No1 Gym in Ponteland raised over £400 for St Oswald's following a recent open day where the gym opened their doors and invited the public in for a taster session.
Those who attended were treated to a series of classes including; spinning, boxercise, kettlebells, barbells, full body circuits, and legs and abs blast. A full body composition analysis, in-depth nutritional advice, pre and post workout information and training guidelines were also made available during the session. Complimentary samples of the gym’s smoothies, protein shakes, amino acids and 'oatien' bars were on offer throughout the day.
The gym held a charity raffle in honour of St Oswald’s with a range of prizes on offer including; a Fitbit, 5 personal training sessions from No1 Gym, training gear and a haircut and colour at Hooker and Young.
Danielle Callender, St Oswald’s Community Fundraiser said:
We’re thrilled that the event was such a huge success and have throughly enjoyed working with the entire team at No.1 Gym. The dedication and genorisity the team poured into the event really showed and to have raised over £400 for St Oswald's is testament to their hardwork! Events like this are so important to us as St Oswald’s could not provide the high quality care we do without the brilliant support of local people and businesses that are willing to give up their time in order to organise fantastic fundraising events. The money raised will make an enormous difference to the lives of local people. We look forward to working with the gym again on future fundraising endeavours.
