We’re encouraging local people to be open in their conversations about death during Dying Matters Awareness Week, which runs throughout the week.
This year’s theme is ‘The Big Conversation’, raising awareness of the importance of talking more openly about end of life wishes. The latest figures show that 72% of members of the public believe that people in Britain are uncomfortable discussing dying, death and bereavement.*
To beat the taboo of talking about dying, we will be at the Metro Centre in Gateshead on Wednesday (11th May) to raise awareness of why it is important to make plans for your future and tell loved ones your wishes. We’ll also be raising awareness of the range of services we provide, including details of our ‘Make a Will’ initiative, where we work with local solicitors to offer a discounted Will making service, and the full fee is then donated straight back to us.
