Thousands lit up a life this Christmas

On Wednesday 16th December at the Metro Radio Arena, 1300 supporters lit up a life in memory of a loved one at our annual Light up a Life Remembrance service. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and took part in Light up a Life, so far an amazing £100,000 has been raised for the Hospice.

Thank you also to our entertainment on the night: Robsons Choice, Voices of Hope Choir, The Longbenton Community Choir, the Newcastle Concert Band and Rebekah Hoskins.

Thank you to our special guests Paul Donaghy for reading and to Freya Woods for switching on the 10,000 lights on our Remembrance tree, where each light shone in a loved ones memory.

Freya's mum, Louise said:

Tonight was quite simply beautiful! We were so proud of Freya tonight but without St Oswalds we would be lost. You are all amazing. We remembered our beautiful boy Will in a special way tonight, thank you.

For anyone who missed the service, or for those who would like to listen again, Radio Tyneside will be broadcasting the service on Christmas Eve at 4pm. Newcastle listeners can tune in on Medium Wave 15.75 or listen online at the Radio Tyneside website www.radiotyneside.co.uk
