Sibling support

Each year we run two ‘Sibz Days’ for brothers and sisters of children who stay with us for short breaks.

Led by our care team, Sibz Days involve sharing feelings and experiences and expressing them in lots of different ways – including art, crafts and music.

Children get the chance to have loads of messy fun, make new friends and even play with medical equipment that their brother or sister may use, in a safe environment, which they wouldn’t normally be able to touch.

“My son thoroughly enjoyed the Sibz Day. He enjoyed making and playing with the musical instruments and it was great for him to meet brothers and sisters in a similar position to him. He came back full of life, really positive and can’t wait for the next one!”
