We’re delighted to announce Kieran Trippier, Newcastle United Footballer, as our latest official Charity Ambassador.
Kieran will join his Assistant Head Coach, Graeme Jones as the latest Official Ambassador for St Oswald’s Hospice.
Kieran said:
“I have known about St Oswald’s Hospice and their work for ages so it was great to meet many of the staff and some of the young adults who benefit from their care at the fundraising Sportsman’s Dinner last year, which Graeme and his wife, Debbie had organised.
Welcoming Kieran as an Ambassador for the Children and Young Adults Service, Angela Egdell, Director of Care Services at St Oswald’s Hospice said:
“We are delighted to welcome Kieran to the St Oswald’s Hospice family. We were all so uplifted to hear he wanted to find out more about our work and get involved. It mean so much to us all. The families, staff and volunteers who Kieran has already met have commented how much his visit gave them a boost at a time when they really needed it.”
Kieran said:
“I’m keen to help raise awareness of the Hospice as well as with their fundraising efforts and that’s why to help kick start my Ambassador role, I have donated two signed shirts for the Hospice to raffle. The first shirt is from the recent Newcastle United game with Manchester City and the second shirt is from the England versus Scotland friendly game in 2023.”
Kieran continued:
“I’m hoping that the signed shirts will help raise money to go towards the care and support the Hospice provide for the children and families who use their services. The children and young adults I meet when I go, go to St Oswald’s Hospice for short breaks. They have a lot of fun while they’re there, all because they are cared for by the brilliant and expert staff team and volunteers. The children and young people go surfing, have music and play therapy, and loads more. It’s really inspiring and I’m so pleased to be involved.”
Angela ended:
“We know that with Kieran’s profile in the region and his passion for the work that we do, it will be a perfect match. Here at the Hospice we believe in ‘Quality Time for Everyone’. We love to help the children and young adults, and their families, make special memories and create magical moments that they will remember for a lifetime. I know Kieran’s visits and support will mean the world to them and will be absolutely treasured.
