As a member of Team St Oswald’s, you’ll be joining hundreds of other brilliant people in making a difference to North East families who rely on the support of the hospice. Your 13.1 miles will help our patients to enjoy trips to the seaside, relax with complementary therapies and spend quality time with their families. It will also support those who have been bereaved, give a hand to hold on the darkest of days and ensure that people are not alone at what might be the toughest time of their lives.

Your Fundraising Pledge

We ask that all of our runners aim to raise £300 each through fundraising and sponsorship. This is because each runner’s place costs the hospice £144 based on the package we buy from Great North Run, to ensure the best possible experience to greet all of our supporters at the end of the event. Everything you raise beyond that will directly support the patients we care for.

We’ll send you a fundraising pack containing lots of advice and information, a sponsor form and regular email updates to support you. We are always at the end of the phone if you need us.

The sooner you sign up, the more time you have to fundraise. Spreading your target over several months takes the pressure off – aiming for £30 per month over the next 10 months is a much easier way to reach your goal, plus you have much longer to train too!

We’ll support you all the way and send you a fundraising pack, regular email updates packed full of tips and advice and the biggie, an official ‘Team St Oswald’s’ running vest to wear with pride!

As an own place runner, you’ll not have a set fundraising target, but every penny you so raise will be gratefully received and put to use in your community.
