A weekend of fun and fundraising thanks to NB&MS

Our lovely supporters, Andy Greenwell, Ray Dees and their company NB&MS held a 2-part event at Benwell Hill Cricket Club on Saturday 5th October, to raise funds for St Oswald’s Hospice. It was the second year of ‘Benwell Festival’, featuring a family fun-day during the day time, before turning the Cricket Club into a live music festival on the night!

With face painting, tombola, raffle, refreshment vans, live Disney music on the piano, carnival games, magicians and much more, it really was the perfect day for families – lots of fun was had and even more prizes were won!

Leading into the night time, a big thanks goes to the artists who performed; Mark Deeks, Dave Ridley, Drew Trainor and Four Worried Men, alongside Justin Lockwood who compared the night. Andy and the team orchestrated an auction, raffle alongside the music and brilliant bar service from the BHCC team!

Benwell Festival isn’t the only thing Andy has planned this year, as he starts training for his ‘Magnificent 7 in 7’ challenges. Not only will Andy be planning on finishing his challenges by taking part in the 2025 Great North Run as part of team St Oswald’s in September, he will also be taking on the following…

– Northumbrian Kingdom Ultra in March

– Ironman Valencia 70.3 in April

– Edinburgh Marathon in May

– The Wall 70 Mile Ultra in June

– Bamburgh Castle to Edinburgh Castle 100 Mile Ultra in July

– ‘Geordie Man’ – 2.4mile swim, 116mile bike and marathon in August

Wow, what a line-up! Andy! We wish you lots of luck and can’t wait to hear how you get on.

Thank you Andy and Team NB&MS – we can’t begin to tell you how much we appreciate all your support. If you’d like to donate to Andy’s incredible challenges to support the Hospice, you can find his JustGiving page here.
