Procter and Gamble help to put the wheels in motion at St Oswald’s Hospice

05 February, 2020

Our friends from Procter & Gamble in North Tyneside came to visit us with a giant surprise.

P&G handed over one of their bi-annual donations to St Oswald’s this week. The staff raise money at the site based in the Cobalt Business Park through collection cans and fund raising events such as P&G product sales to staff, cake sales, raffles and various Christmas fund raising events such as the Christmas Silent Auction and Pub Quiz.

Colleagues from P&G, Rachael Cass and Andy Sherwood, came in to hand over the latest cheque of over £4000, Andy said:

We couldn’t believe it when we saw the amount, I think Christmas definitely had something to do with how much we’ve managed to raise. It’s also incredible as it’s been halved, so another £4000 has gone to our other charity of choice.

Laura Elliott, Business Partnerships Fundraiser said:

“It is wonderful to work with an organisation so committed to supporting local causes within their community. The money raised is going towards a new minibus for the Hospice this year. The minibuses are used for a range of patient needs, but primarily to enable people to attend the hospice but also for Day Hospice patients with mobility issues that need to attend hospital appointments. Our minibus is a crucial part of our transport fleet so the £4000 is a great start on reaching our target.”
