Cycle by the Sea

In support of St Oswald’s Hospice

Saturday 21st September 2024

Get on your bike this September and take on one of two scenic routes through Northumberland (a shorter linear and a longer loop option) in support of St Oswald’s Hospice patients and families.

We’ll start the day at The Alnwick Garden with a super send off for our cyclists, who will then head off on their coastal adventure to Tynemouth (approx 65km). Those wanting a tougher challenge could take on the loop route, heading back north via Morpeth, finishing back at The Alnwick Garden (approx 140km).

Registration for Cycle by the Sea is open now and costs £60 per cyclist

This includes:

  • Entry to the challenge event
  • Transport for you and your bike from our meeting point in Tynemouth to The Alnwick Garden, our starting point. If you choose to do the full loop route and finish in Alnwick, you will also have transport back to Tynemouth included
  • GPX files to download the full route and signage on route
  • 2 x wristbands per cyclist for entry to the Alnwick Garden on the day of the event, admitting two adults and up to 8 children free of charge. This allows your friends and family to join you at the start line, enjoy the day while you ride, and meet you afterwards at the finish line
  • A FREE St Oswald’s Hospice sports vest and support with fundraising from our team
  • Finishers medal and certificate

What you need to know

  • Cycle by the Sea takes place on Saturday 21st September 2024
  • We start early and travel together to The Alnwick Garden with our challenge partners WATBus & WATBike
  • Cyclists need to be 18+ years old, or 16+ with accompanying adult
  • This challenge has no set fundraising target but every penny you do raise really helps and we’ll support you along the way as you seek sponsorship

Lets get on our bikes together this September!

Once you sign up to join the team, an Enthuse fundraising page will be automatically generated for you. You can set a fundraising target of your choice and share your personal link with friends, family and colleagues. We will also send out further details in due course, such as meeting times and location, a fundraising pack, your vest and other key details.

We can’t wait to get on our bikes together this September, and cycle by the sea in support St Oswald’s Hospice patients and families. We hope you’ll join us!
