Meet David

David is a key member of the Newcastle tax team in Deloitte. He sits on Our Board of Trustees and is also the Chair of St Oswald’s Hospice Promotions.

We asked him:

What does Hospice care mean to you?

Hope, comfort and support when it matters most.

What would be your ‘dream job?

I always thought that being a sports journalist (covering rugby league in particular) would be pretty cool, but whilst it sounds a bit clichéd I love the job I actually do!

What does being a Trustee mean to you?

For me, it’s an opportunity (and a privilege) to be able to put something back into the local community through an organisation that is part of the local fabric and means so much to so many people. I’ve also just received my 5 years’ service badge, of which I’m very proud!

What is your favourite St Oswald’s Hospice memory?

Speaking to the various members of the Higher Management Team when I first became a Trustee – hearing their passion for the organisation and also making me feel so welcome and part of the hospice family.
