Fundraising
As we mentioned last week, this month is National Pet Month. This week we’re introducing you to the wonderful Tilly (6) and Winnie (3), who are both rescue whippet crosses. The pawsome pair belong to Amanda Hall from our Purchasing Team who has worked at the Hospice for nearly 35 years! Tilly and Winnie, along with Amanda and her husband Bryan, support the fundraising team at community events and last weekend they were raising money through an Easter Egg Tombola at Morrisons in Consett.
Amanda said:
“The girls have helped out at walks, helped marshal events and at Heighley Gate. Sadly we lost our previous ‘fundraising dog’ Meg in 2018 and we got Winnie in 2019. She had been found tied up in the snow in a garden in the Morpeth area just before Christmas.
“Bryan’s mam was cared for on the Inpatient Ward in 1987 and that is why we continue to support and fundraise as we know how important these donations are for the Hospice – it’s a very special place to me. Without people making donations we wouldn’t be able to provide the care we do. The girls enjoy helping the fundraising team and love all the pats, strokes and attention! Last weekend they raised £163 at Morrisons for the Hospice!”
Huge thanks to Tilly, Winnie, Amanda and Bryan for all your wonderful and impawtant support.
