A dad whose child uses our Children and Young Adult Service is using his passion for fitness to fundraise for us.
Stephen Pape, who owns Discover Fitness is organising a five week beach bootcamp at Cullercoats beach to raise money for the Hospice and help people to get fit over summer.
Stephen's daughter Sophie, aged 9, comes to us for short breaks and has a severe form of cerebral palsy.
This will be the second beach bootcamp that Stephen has organised in aid of us, he said:
“The care and support at St Oswald’s is fantastic, which is ultimately why it was so important for me to give something back. The staff love Sophie and they make her feel so welcome.
"The boot camp is a fun, tough and positive environment suitable for all abilities.
"I've organised the sessions to promote positivity and make the most of the wonderful summer whilst we get fit! Making a donation to St Oswald's too is really important to me given how much Sophie benefits from the Hospice."
The beach bootcamp will run every Wednesday at 8am, from 1st August to 29th August . Each session is £5, with £2 of this donated to St Oswald's.
If you're interested in coming along for fitness, fundriaising and fun, simply turn up at the meeting point - Cullercoats beach opposite 'The View' restaurant. For more information you can contact Stephen on Twitter or Facebook.
