Firestone and Tyre Spot go the extra mile

Local company Tyre Spot have teamed up with tyre manufacturer Firestone to create a new charity partnership with St Oswald’s.  

Johnathon Shaw, Company Director and Nick Singleton, Business Development Manager from Tyre Spot popped over to see us on Thursday at the Hospice bringing their shiny branded car along for the ride.

Throughout November and December, Tyre Spot’s 11 depots across the region will be fundraising for St Oswald’s Hospice, after choosing us as their charity partner.

As well as selling beanies, charity pins and Christmas gifts at each depot, Tyre Spot are donating £2 from each Firestone tyre sold to the Hospice.

Johnathon Shaw, Company Director commented:

“My auntie received care at St Oswald’s a few years back and ever since, as a family, we’ve always supported the charity. We’ve taken part in remembrance walks organised by the hospice and we shop in St Oswald’s charity shops, particularly at Christmas – we always buy some of their decorations!

 

“At Tyre Spot, we recently trialled charity partnerships in our depot’s and it went down well with both staff and customers. It seemed only natural to choose St Oswald’s, as I have witnessed their quality of care first hand. The Hospice has done so much for my family, and many other like us, so it’s great to give something back.”

It was great to see how enthusiastic Johnathon and Nick are about raising money for the Hospice and I can’t wait to be a part of the next two months working closely with them.
