Francesca Tomlinson, 25, is making final preparations for this years’ Great North Run in memory of her father who spent the last few weeks of his life at St. Oswald’s.
Francesca, from Bill Quay in Gateshead, has chosen to run for Team St Oswald’s to thank the team who cared for her Dad.
St Oswald's helped create a beautiful place for my Dad to spend the last few weeks of his life. The amazing staff also helped me, my mum, my two little brothers and my sister get through the toughest weeks of our lives too. My little sister even brought her pet hamsters to live in the art room. The day before Dad died, it was my mum and her twin's birthday, and the staff helped my little sister create two 'birthday thrones' in the court yard. We sat in the beautiful sunny gardens and we all slept at the hospice the night before he passed.
We wish Francesca and all of our amazing team St Oswald’s runners all the best for the big day!
