Anyone planning to move house, get married, start a new family or simply get organised can take advantage of St Oswald’s ‘Make a Will Month’ this June.
The scheme is open to everyone, allowing you to get a great deal on making or updating your Will, while helping out a local charity.
Thanks to participating solicitors across the region, it costs just £90 for a single Will or £125 for a pair and the full fee is then donated straight to St Oswald’s.
Angela Taylor is 59 and lives in Burnopfield, County Durham. She decided to take advantage of Make a Will Month this year, and has already made an appointment with one of the participating solicitors for her and her husband to update their Will. She said:
I turn 60 this year, so it seemed as good a time as any to get organised. My husband, Ivan and I had planned to get in touch with my solicitor anyway, to make an appointment to update our Will, but then I saw St Oswald’s had advertised their Make a Will Month. It just seemed like fate! I volunteer at the Hospice in their children’s unit once a week and see how important the work is that they do with the young people. I love coming in, seeing the children and their families and playing a small part in creating a warm and welcoming environment for them all. Taking part in Make a Will Month is another way I can give something back to the Hospice and support their vital work.
Laura Hargreaves from our St Oswald’s Fundraising Team said:
Making a Will is one of the most important things you can do for those you love. By writing a will you can ensure that, on your death, your affairs will be in order, your loved ones will be taken care of and your wishes will be followed.
