Not only have the Gosforth-based company, who offer specialist foot, eye and hearing services, sponsored our 2019 team of runners, they have committed to show their support for the next three years. The My Health Clinic logo will adorn the newly-designed running vests which our 500-strong team will wear on Sunday 9th September at the Great North Run, the world’s most famous half marathon.
The company are also supporting two St Oswald’s runners through training for their first ever Great North Run by offering a complimentary podiatry assessment and treatment with My Health Clinic Podiatrist, Jennie Hayes. This includes a Biomechanical assessment, regular appointments in the lead up to the run to reduce the risk of injury in training, any treatment needed and a final review after the event to provide advice on recovery. Jennie will also be on hand at our marquee in the Great North Run Charity Village after the run, to offer foot massages to weary runners.
My Health Clinic Managing Director, Rob Boyce said:
It’s fantastic to be able to support St Oswald’s Hospice in this way, as I have been a supporter of the charity as an individual for many years. As a resident of Gosforth, I have been aware of the Hospice and its work and have ran the Great North Run on several occasions to raise funds, as well as donated clothing and furniture to their charity shops.
When the opportunity came up for My Health Clinic to sponsor the hospice’s Great North Run team, we jumped at the chance. As we have a foot clinic as part of our brand which aligns perfectly with the Great North Run, it just seemed such a natural fit.
As a company we are looking to get even more involved with St Oswald’s and raise funds for this vital local cause. We are hoping to ‘take over’ one of the hospice charity shops for the day and get out and about on the Ozzie fundraising bus! We’d also love to bring some of our services into the hospice to benefit the patients.
We’ve been based in our Gosforth clinic for around 16 months now and think that throwing our support behind St Oswald’s is a great way to connect with the local community, while making a real difference.
Rob will be running with his My Health Clinic colleagues Linda Garner, Ophthalmic Nurse and Tom Boyce, Marketing Assistant. They will be joined by Mark McIntyre, the partner of one of the clinic’s consultants.
If you would like to join Rob and his colleagues and support the work of St Oswald’s Hospice, there are some places still available. We'd love you to join us! Call 0191 246 9123 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
