Nick Armitt, a Newcastle based photographer, has launched a special offer on his prints to help support us here at St Oswald’s Hospice.
Originally from Manchester, Nick first heard about St Oswald’s during our Great North Snowdog Trail in 2016. When a friend starting working here at St Oswald’s, Nick was humbled to hear about the work St Oswald’s does for its patients and their families. This encouraged Nick to get involved with us and to make an on-going contribution through his work, whilst supporting a local charity.
Nick has always been passionate about photography, particularly wildlife and landscape. When the opportunity came up for photographers to submit their favourite photos of local landmarks and landscapes for our annual calendar competition, St Oswald’s selected one of Nick’s entries to be featured on the front page of the calendar. By supporting St Oswald’s Hospice through his business – Nicholas Armitt Photography – Nick’s customers from over the world can also support the Hospice. Nick’s prints are sold to order through his website, for every print sold from his ‘Town and Country’ gallery, Nick will kindly donate 25% of the sale to us here at St Oswald’s.
I’ve always enjoyed photography – particularly wildlife and landscape – and I wanted to do something to help local charities. After submitting photos for consideration in the St Oswald’s calendar, I wondered if there was something more long term I could do to help. With this in mind, I have decided to sell some of my favourite photographs including scenes of the beautiful North East and beyond and I will donate 25% of each sale to St Oswald’s.

We are thrilled that Nick has chosen to support St Oswald’s through his print shop. The money received from every print is vital to help us with the day to day running of the Hospice. His photos are stunning and I can’t believe it was his very first picture taken of Newcastle that was chosen for our calendar. We really can’t thank Nick enough for choosing to support us.
