June is Make a Will Month at St Oswald's. Whether you have never had a Will or need to update an exisiting one, our participating local soclicirs can help you plan for the future in a simple and cost-effective way. They will write a Will for you at a reduced rate and donate their full fee back to St Oswald's - meaning you can support the hospice's work as well as ticking something off your to-do list.
Michelle Duncan, 40 lives in Cramlington and is taking part in Make a Will Month this year. She said:
I’ve never had a Will before and neither has my husband, I think life just gets in the way. When we bought our house and were arranging our mortgage, we were advised that we should get a Will and life insurance. We were told it was for the worst case scenario, especially since we have two young children, but I just didn’t know where to begin. You never think anything is going to happen to you.
It was only a few weeks ago that my brother-in-law died, he had a family, a house, children but he didn’t have a Will. It was a shock and I suppose it was a reality check. You don’t always know what is going to happen so it’s best to be prepared. I had heard of St Oswald's Make a Will month and planned to give one of the solicitors a call, but after the death of my brother-in-law we realised we really needed to get something in place sooner rather than later.
