Our friends from Procter & Gamble in North Tyneside came to visit our Focus on Living Centre with a giant surprise.
With a novelty sized cheque in hand, P&G handed over their first bi-annual donation to St Oswald’s. The staff at the North Tyneside premises had been asked to nominate charities close to their heart to be considered for the next charity partnership scheme. St Oswald’s Hospice was chosen along with Family Gateway to receive bi-annual donations for the next 3 years.
Staff nominated us after completing a Shop Takeover in one of our retail stores. A member of the team had a personal connection with the Hospice with her mam spending time in the Focus on Living Centre accessing our day services.
Two of our team members were invited into the offices to have a chat about what the Hospice does and how donations and volunteering time can really help the Hospice.

We are thrilled to be selected as one of Procter & Gamble’s chosen charities for the next three years. It is wonderful to work with an organisation so committed to supporting local causes within their community. The donations from Procter & Gamble will support people accessing a range of courses and therapeutic activities within our Focus on Living Centre. All the money raised will make a difference to the lives of local people, improving their wellbeing, increasing their confidence and offering vital support during challenging times. Thank you so much to all the staff at Procter & Gamble for your generosity.

We knew a bit about St Oswald’s but it wasn’t until Katy and Natalie came in to talk to us about all the services you offered that we realised how much you did for the community. The Focus on Living Centre is a great place, coming in and seeing everyone paint with watercolours and do crafts was lovely to see. I love being part of the Community Matters team at work, It’s nice to know how our donation can help and how much of a difference activities in the craft room can help with wellbeing and daily living tasks.
