Comedy fans are in for a treat as a host of well-known faces will come together for ‘Chuckle for Charity’ at The Stand, Newcastle on Tuesday 26th July.
The evening promises to be an hilarious event and will promote our fantastic achievements ahead of our 30th Birthday celebrations. The event will be held at top Newcastle comedy club, The Stand, and will be headlined by Jarrow born comedian, Carl Hutchinson, who will be joined by Mat Reed, Joby Mageean, Sammy Dobson, Catherine Scott and George Zach.
Rebecca Baty, has chosen to organise the event in favour of the Hospice due a person connection. She said: “I have a special place in my heart for St Oswald's as my mam was in the care of the hospice when she passed away in 2001 when I was 13 years old. I have always been passionate about the charity and the level of care and support that they offer local people. I fundraised for St Oswald's Hospice when I was at school but I have recently been lucky enough to complete a 3 month internship in the charities fundraising department working on the Great North Snowdog's campaign which was a fantastic experience.
I wanted to organise an event myself that could help to raise funds for St Oswald's and while I was doing my internship I went to a comedy night at The Stand and thought it would be a great venue to hold a fundraising event. I can't thank Carl Hutchinson enough for helping me to put this event together and the other comedians for taking part and helping to raise money for such a good cause.”
