St Oswald’s has been named E-Commerce Business of the Year at the Hospice UK Retail Awards in recognition of our innovative eBay store.
The award recognises charity hospice retailers that have launched or expanded their online services and in particular, Hospices that have enjoyed success and growth.
We set up our eBay site in 2015, and it has enjoyed a 131% growth in profits in the last two years. Our eBay shop stocks a wide range of items including; clothing, soft furnishings, antiques, homeware and books, and enables us to sell to new customers both nationally and globally.
Anita Ball, Director of Income and Marketing at St Oswald’s, said:
We’re absolutely delighted to have won this award and especially at a time when our online retail services are experiencing huge growth. As the retail industry is moving into a more digital era, selling donated items through our eBay shop is proving to be an effective way to income generate and reach a wider audience. Our eBay shop is now the fastest growing area of our entire retail function. The success of our eBay shop has given us greater confidence to expand our diverse portfolio of online and specialist shops and this includes a new Etsy shop to sell our Re-styled upcycled products. Staff and volunteers from across our retail team have worked tirelessly over the past few years to build our eBay shop and are thrilled to have received this special accolade acknowledging their achievements. We look forward to the future and will continue to develop and grow our online products and services.
