We’re bursting at the seams with excitement at news of a brilliant donation from our friends at Bazaar Group.
Bazaar Group has supported the Hospice since August 2016 as a member of our Business Club and have donated £4,428 to date.
Their most recent gift is a range of bean bags from their BeanBagBazaar website. We have proudly placed these in our Family Support Centre where young people meet with the Hospice’s bereavement team for support after the loss of a loved one.
Helen Svensson, HR Manager at Bazaar Group said:
St Oswald’s Hospice provides important services to many people across the region, the work they do is truly inspirational and Bazaar Group are proud to support the Hospice in any way possible. Our team are excited to work with St Oswald’s and their fantastic team of fundraisers, both through donating our products and taking part in events and activities. We look forward to a long and happy partnership with St Oswald’s.
As you may know, we are about to begin the construction of a new Family Room on our Adult Inpatient ward which is due to be complete by the end of this year. The Family Room will give families a place to be together in an intimate home from home environment, making memories and sharing special moments away from the patient bedroom. These colourful and fun bean bags will give the space a cosier feel for the families spending time in the ward.
Beth Gregan, Family and Bereavement Practitioner at St Oswald’s Hospice said:
The bean bags are a great addition to the Family Support Centre and the children love them. The funky designs help the children feel comfortable and at ease making it easier for them to talk about their emotions and overcome their fears.
Katy Taberham, Senior Fundraiser at St Oswald’s added:
We can’t thank Bazaar Group enough. The bean bags definitely brighten the place up and it’s a great addition to the rooms. St Oswald’s has to raise over £7.5million a year through charitable giving to keep the Hospice open so having companies like Bazaar Group choosing to support us each month is very important and greatly appreciated.
