So when the team from Samuel Knight International (SKI) said “Do you think we could raise money if we dressed our COO up as Santa and sent him around all the Greggs in Newcastle city centre with a naughty Elf sidekick?…” our answer was of course, YES!
As part of a festive month of fundraising, the SKI team planned a ‘Greggs Decathlon.’ This saw their very own Santa (a.k.a. Dan Kerr, COO) and his Elf (Deyin Turna, Head of Delivery) set off from their office, travelling to 10 different city centre Greggs shops and sampling a sweet or savoury delight at each one, as chosen by the public! Items on their included a ham and cheese baguette, chocolate eclairs, festive bakes, vegan sausage rolls and everything in between, meaning that Santa and his Elf were very well fed!
Helped by Katelyn and Jake from the SKI marketing team, Santa and his naughty Elf documented their whole challenge, as they sprinkled a little Christmas cheer (and pasty crumbs) across the toon.
As well as their Greggs Decathlon, the SKI team held other fundraising activities, including an office quiz, mystery box Christmas presents and bonus ball, all in support of St Oswald’s Hospice patients and families. .
St Oswald’s Hospice were chosen as the Christmas charity partner of SKI as several members of the team’s family having benefited from our range of services.
Head of Marketing, Brand & Communications, Katelyn Young said “After all the help St Oswald’s Hospice gave my grandad, it was a no brainer for us to give something back – I’ll always remember the care he received and the difference it made to our family”.
Huge thank you to Team SKI for your support in raising £1,333 in support of our work with local adults, children and their families!
