In 2018, St Oswald's recived the 'Innovation and Technology in Charity Retail Award' for our Shop Takeover Scheme.
The scheme invites businesses to 'takeover' one of our 25 shops for the day. Participants are immersed in all areas of shop management and aim to raise as much money as possible for the Hopsice.
After the initial one-off corporate enterprise challenge, the scheme has now been expanded. Businesses can now 'takeover' more than one shop and pit teams of collegues against each other. Participants will experience stock generation, promotion, set ambitious fundraising targets and develop team building.
We are also very aware of our environmental footprint and we’re always seeking ways to reduce it and promote green initiatives amongst our staff, volunteers and the general public.
In 2012 we were presented with the Charity Retail Association’s ‘Green Initiative’ Award.
The national award recognises the charity retailer that has introduced the most innovative way of reducing negative environmental impact and promoting green behaviour.
