St Oswald’s Hospice announced as the official Charity Partner for Durham’s Northern Kin Festival

Northern Kin Festival, taking place at Thornley Hall Farm, Durham, in August, has announced that St Oswald’s Hospice will be the festival’s official charity for 2025.

The partnership means a whole host of fundraising activity will take place at the festival including raffles, stalls and giveaways in order to raise awareness of our work, as well as much-needed funds to help continue delivering our services.

Northern Kin Festival is back for it’s 7th year in Durham, having made the move to it’s new home Thornley Hall Farm last year. Audiences can see headliners The Stranglers, Midge Ure, Michael Schenker, New Model Army, Newton Faulkner and over 40 more artists across three stages.

Debbie Travis-Waller, Head of Marketing for Northern Kin Festival, said “We are delighted to partner with St Oswald’s Hospice, which offers such a vital service here in the North East. We hope to help raise awareness for the charity and also help raise funds so the charity can continue with the amazing work it does”

Our fundraising team and volunteers will be at Northern Kin to meet festival-goers and join in the fun, while sharing how they cam support us in making a difference.

Our Chief Executive Steph Edusei, said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with Northern Kin festival this summer.  This partnership not only helps to raise funds to support services for our patients and families, it also gives our St Oswald’s Hospice team the chance to meet new people and raise awareness of how we can support our community, not just with end of life care.

“At the hospice we aim to help our patients to make memories and enjoy quality time with those we love, in a way that works for them. In fact, we have even held our own mini-festival here at the hospice in previous years, which was a big hit with patients of all ages.

“I would like to thank Northern Kin Festival for choosing to support St Oswald’s Hospice this year. It means so much to us all.”

Northern Kin Festival takes place on August 1st-3rd 2025 at Thornley Hall Farm, Durham. Click here to find out more.
