Support the Toon and St Oswald’s Hospice!

In case you haven’t heard, Newcastle United are going to Wembley!

Our Official Hospice Ambassadors, Newcastle United Assistant Head Coach Graeme Jones, and player Kieran Trippier will be travelling to the capital with their team to take on the mighty Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Final on 16th March – the question is, where will you be watching?

One of our Better Together Business Club members, Fusion Power Solutions, would like to invite you to their Charity Family Funday & Match Viewing’ at The Grand Hotel Gosforth. As well as a fully immersive match day experience, with surround sound, the game projected on 4 screens, and pre-match build up, there will also be a family fun day prior to the action, with games, tombola, raffles, face painting and more. Prior to the football, ‘Bommel’s Bingo’ will get the party started, with a raffle and auction to follow the main event.

Alongside a brilliant day of activities in a family friendly environment, the money raised will be equally split between St Oswald’s Hospice and Hazlewood Go, helping to support the North East community.

When asking Fusion Power Solutions Founder and CEO, Ben Fearon, why he wanted to support the Hospice and Hazlewood Go, he said:

“I’ve learned so much about what the Hospice does and the services they offer to people through meeting hospice fundraiser Sophie Hindhaugh at the Jammy Networking Group. I wanted to join their Business Club to give something back and spread the word, as I think it’s amazing all the services you offer at no charge to people who need them. I’m happy to be sponsoring this event through Fusion to maximise the money that can be raised for charity.”

He continued: “Hazlewood Go was set up to support my son, Jacob’s school, Hazlewood Primary. Last year, the school closed due to some structural issues with the building, and even now they’ve reopened, the facilities aren’t anywhere near okay for kids to be in day after day.

“Alternative classrooms have been set up, including a marquee as a temporary lunch hall, but the ongoing issues mean that they can’t make hot meals on site, kids struggle to have PE lessons in winter as they can’t be outside and overall the learning isn’t up to scratch with the limited facilities available.

“Being able to provide support to fix the issues at school would not only improve my son’s education, but every kid who attends.”

So if you are looking for a venue to watch the big game, where all of the family can enjoy it together, why not get your stripes on and scarves at the ready and join us for a brilliant day?
