Palliative Care Advice Line for Professionals
Working in conjunction with Marie Curie, we run an out of hours telephone advice service for health and social care professionals caring for patients from Northumberland, North of Tyne and Gateshead with palliative care needs.
The Advice Line offers access to:
• Symptom control advice
• Advice and support to care home nursing staff
• Advice and signposting on services available
Out of hours advice is available from 5:00pm to 8:00am weekdays, all weekends and bank holidays.

Calls are answered by a qualified Nurse, (depending on advice required they are sometimes transferred to a Doctor) therefore you may need to leave a message on the answerphone, which is checked regularly. Please leave a number so that we can call you back.
St Oswald’s Hospice and Marie Curie jointly run the out of hours telephone advice service.
